Hi, I'm Sammie.
These are your questions.
Where are you from?
Ever since I was about four years old, I've lived in Nashville.
Who do you sound like? Who's inspired you?
My songs are all pretty different. My song "Problem Child" is rock, and it reminds me of Amy Winehouse. "Black Sheep" is like a cross of Norah Jones and Amy Winehouse. "Wherever You Are" is like The Postal Service and Coldplay got together and made a song. There's a lot of artists and bands I sound similar to, but I don't sound exactly like anyone.
When will your album "Problem Child" be available?
Date is undetermined, but we are estimating late 2017 or early 2018.
How did you get started in music?
I've always been singing. I don't remember a time when I wasn't. I started taking piano lessons at around eight or nine, then stopped at around eleven. Since then, I've just taught myself the rest. I took drum lessons when I was twelve to thirteen, and I also played the trombone when I was in middle school.
An awesome person named Sean Kelly works as a music teacher, multimedia director, among other things. He didn't even know I did music until I joined our school's rock band. He soon offered me his services as a producer, as well as several valuable social and business connections. Working with him, Tim Mathews, Nathan Meckel, Mark Niemiec, and the rest of the crew has been an amazing experience!
